PROUD TO BE DOING BUSINESS IN WELSH Small businesses in Cardiff are increasingly using the Welsh language to enhance their products and service to customers. Our language, culture and heritage are widely recognised as unique selling points in day to day business. One organisation that offers advice and support relating to the use of the language to the private sector is that of Menter Iaith Caerdydd (Cardiff Welsh Language Initiative), a community-based movement whose main aim is to develop and promote the use of the Welsh language. During recent weeks Menter Caerdydd has been in contact with many local businesses in Cardiff presenting them with the organisation's Private Sector pack and asking them to consider utilising the Welsh language in their businesses. Also provided was a bilingual "Open/Closed" door sign which many willingly agreed to display. Many businesses have shown their support. Menter Caerdydd would like to thank these businesses for their positive approach and to invite others to contact its Business Liaison officer on 02920 565658 if they would like to receive expert advice and assistance free of charge. |
